Interim Corporate Health and Safety Advisor – West London – £44.99 per hour (umbrella)

A London Local Authority is seeking an experienced Interim Corporate Health and Safety Advisor to provide a competent and pragmatic advisory service across all Council departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver professional health and safety advice and support to services.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the Council’s Health and Safety Management System, policies, and procedures.
  • Plan and conduct audits and inspections, reviewing documentation and working with managers to implement improvements.
  • Promote a positive health, safety, and wellbeing culture and ensure compliance with legislation.
Experience / Knowledge
  • Extensive experience providing health and safety advice in a large or multidisciplinary organisation.
  • In-depth knowledge of current health and safety legislation and best practice.
  • Proven ability to engage stakeholders and promote practical, proportionate safety solutions.
Qualifications
  • Degree / NVQ Level 6 Diploma in Health and Safety (essential)
  • IOSH membership (Cert IOSH or above) with ongoing CPD (essential)
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or strong CDM knowledge (essential)
  • NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate and/or auditing qualification (desirable)
  • Demonstrable competence in health and wellbeing initiatives, including stress and partnership working (essential)
