Interim Corporate Health and Safety Advisor – West London – £44.99 per hour (umbrella)

A London Local Authority is seeking an experienced Interim Corporate Health and Safety Advisor to provide a competent and pragmatic advisory service across all Council departments.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver professional health and safety advice and support to services.

Lead the development and implementation of the Council’s Health and Safety Management System, policies, and procedures.

Plan and conduct audits and inspections, reviewing documentation and working with managers to implement improvements.

Promote a positive health, safety, and wellbeing culture and ensure compliance with legislation.

Experience / Knowledge

Extensive experience providing health and safety advice in a large or multidisciplinary organisation.

In‑depth knowledge of current health and safety legislation and best practice.

Proven ability to engage stakeholders and promote practical, proportionate safety solutions.

Qualifications

Degree / NVQ Level 6 Diploma in Health and Safety (essential)

IOSH membership (Cert IOSH or above) with ongoing CPD (essential)

NEBOSH Construction Certificate or strong CDM knowledge (essential)

NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate and / or auditing qualification (desirable)

Demonstrable competence in health and wellbeing initiatives, including stress and partnership working (essential)
