Job summary

Fuse Energy is seeking a Corporate Finance Associate to join the principal side of financings, structuring and executing debt facilities, and guiding lenders and advisors through closing. You’ll support trading-finance activities, liquidity management and capital strategies as the company scales globally.

You should bring 2–5 years in leveraged finance or related fields, with strong modelling, a results-driven mindset and comfort working under tight timelines. Energy sector exposure is a bonus.

Qualifications

  • 2 to 5 years in leveraged finance, restructuring or M&A at a leading bank, advisory boutique or fund.
  • A strong execution record on live financing or M&A transactions, ideally with exposure to leveraged or structured debt.
  • Excellent financial modelling and structuring skills, with the judgement to turn analysis into decisions.
  • Comfortable running transactions and directing advisors, lenders and counsel under time pressure.
  • Strong quantitative or STEM background.
  • Bonus: energy, infrastructure, commodities or power‑trading sector experience; familiarity with collateral, margin and ISDA/CSA mechanics; exposure to working‑capital, receivables or inventory financing, or to equity and growth fundraising

Responsibilities

  • Structure, negotiate and execute the group's non-project debt: corporate and special-situations facilities including RCFs, working-capital and growth debt, and holdco lines
  • Own the trading financing that underpins our power‑trading operations: liquidity, margin and collateral facilities
  • Lead financings end to end from the principal side, from sizing and structuring through diligence, term sheets, documentation and close
  • Build and own the models and analysis behind each transaction: capital structure, covenants, scenario and returns work
  • Manage lender and counterparty relationships and the ongoing life of each facility: drawdowns, covenant compliance, reporting and refinancing
  • Partner with leadership on capital strategy: how much to raise, in what form and when, as the business scales

Job description

Fuse Energy is an energy startup on a mission to make energy abundant and affordable, fast. We combine first-principles thinking with cutting-edge technology to build a radically better energy system.

We've raised over $200M from top-tier investors including Balderton, Lakestar, Accel, Creandum, Lowercarbon, Ribbit, 20VC, Hummingbird and Collaborative Fund, alongside strategic angels including Nico Rosberg and GPs behind Meta, Revolut, Spotify and Uber.

We're building a fully integrated energy company: developing our own solar, batteries and other generation projects, building our own hardware, improving and developing grid infrastructure, trading power in real time, using AI across the business, and installing distributed energy in homes. By selling directly to consumers, we cut out the middleman, lower costs and pass the savings on to our customers.

Fuse is a capital‑intensive business scaling extremely quickly, and how we finance it is central to how we win. As Corporate Finance Associate, you'll sit on the principal side of the financings that fund the company: structuring, negotiating and executing them end to end, directing lenders, advisors and counsel, and working directly with leadership on the capital base of the business. It's the natural next step for a strong analyst or associate ready to move from advisory to principal and own outcomes rather than pitch them.

  • 2 to 5 years in leveraged finance, restructuring or M&A at a leading bank, advisory boutique or fund
  • A strong execution record on live financing or M&A transactions, ideally with exposure to leveraged or structured debt
  • Excellent financial modelling and structuring skills, with the judgement to turn analysis into decisions
  • Comfortable running transactions and directing advisors, lenders and counsel under time pressure
  • First-principles operator who wants to build, not just execute mandates
  • Strong quantitative or STEM background
  • Bonus: energy, infrastructure, commodities or power‑trading sector experience; familiarity with collateral, margin and ISDA/CSA mechanics; exposure to working‑capital, receivables or inventory financing, or to equity and growth fundraising
  • Competitive salary and eligibility for equity
  • Biannual bonus scheme
  • Fully expensed tech to match your needs
  • Private health insurance
  • Breakfast and dinner allowance for office‑based employees
