JOB SUMMARY

Our Corporate Development Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) team is currently looking for a bright and ambitious Corporate Development / M&A Analyst in North America to help execute our strategic growth plan for a fixed term of 8 months.

The successful candidate will report to the Manager Corporate Development in Canada and work closely with the rest of the global Corporate Development team contributing to all aspects of the groups M&A related growth initiatives. The successful candidate will have some knowledge of industrial machinery and automation space a sound understanding of the M&A process and will assist in financial modeling and analysis market research due diligence deal execution and development of internal and external presentations. This candidate will be responsible for compiling business operations financial and ownership information of potential targets and conducting relevant financial valuation analyses on these opportunities. Working closely with the Corporate Development Team in North America and Europe the analyst will support the VP Corporate Development to ensure the smooth management and execution of our initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in the development of detailed financial models analysis and valuation benchmarking (e.g. comparable trading analysis precedent transaction analysis discounted cash flow analysis etc.) for ATS current operations as well as potential investments acquisitions and divestitures.

Support the Manager in the research and analysis of new markets and business opportunities.

Assess the competitive landscape of relevant industry sectors to identify the key market participants and potential acquisition targets ATS could pursue.

Assemble and analyze relevant business financial and ownership information on potential M&A targets.

Support internal deal teams and work with external advisors to perform commercial operational and financial due diligence on potential investments and acquisitions.

Prepare presentation material that aggregates the research assessments and conclusions on M&A opportunities for Executive and Board-level review.

Assist the Executive Management team and members of other business units at ATS with special projects as required.

Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Post‑secondary degree in business accounting finance or equivalent.
  • Designations such as a CPA CA CFA or CPIR (or designations in progress) are an asset.
  • Minimum 2 years relevant M&A advisory experience in Finance Corporate Development Investment Banking Private Equity or Equity Research.
  • Expertise in assessing company financial information strong analytical skills including demonstrated knowledge of valuation techniques and the ability to conduct in-depth industry and company research.
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise assessment materials and communicate information succinctly and effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
  • Advanced MS Office Suite (including proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint) skills.
  • Experience or knowledge of company databases (CapitalIQ or FactSet) an asset but not a requirement.
