Salary: Circa £33,000
Start Date: ASAP
Employment Type: Full-time

The Role

Our client, a respected London-based law firm, is seeking a Corporate and Commercial Paralegal to join their small, collaborative team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented paralegal to gain hands-on experience across corporate, commercial, and finance work. You will assist partners and solicitors on high-value, cross-border transactions and support clients throughout the entire lifecycle of corporate and commercial matters.

The role offers a broad mix of transactional, regulatory, and compliance work, making it ideal for a candidate looking to develop a long-term career in business law.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support lawyers with corporate and commercial transactions, including M&A, joint ventures, and reorganisations.

  • Prepare and maintain due diligence reports and data rooms.

  • Draft and review corporate and commercial documents (NDAs, SPAs, BPAs, service agreements, shareholder agreements, etc.).

  • Assist with financing transactions — drafting facility agreements, security documents, and completion deliverables.

  • Coordinate signing and completion processes, including filing forms at Companies House.

  • Conduct client AML/KYC checks and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Support the team with billing, document management, and administrative processes.

  • Liaise directly with clients, third parties, and internal teams, providing clear communication throughout transactions.

The Person
  • Strong attention to detail and high standards of accuracy in drafting and review.

  • Excellent organisation and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and document management systems.

  • Commercially aware, professional, and proactive in approach.

  • Understanding of AML/KYC principles and SRA regulatory requirements desirable.

  • Previous experience in a corporate or commercial law environment advantageous but not essential.

What You’ll Gain

This position offers excellent exposure and development opportunities, with direct supervision and mentoring from senior lawyers. You will gain practical experience in:

  • Managing matters and discrete workstreams within M&A and finance deals.

  • Developing commercial judgement and client management skills.

  • Observing and assisting in live negotiations and client meetings.

  • Taking ownership of files and processes to improve team efficiency.

If you’re an ambitious paralegal seeking hands-on experience and exposure to complex corporate and commercial matters, we’d love to hear from you.
