Job summary

A leading manufacturing firm in Winsford is seeking a temporary core cutting operator. The role involves cutting cores to specification, planning cutting schedules, and maintaining hygiene standards. Candidates should have a general education and ideally a background in core cutting or manufacturing. A Counterbalance FLT licence and strong teamwork skills are necessary. The position requires working 4 on 4 off shifts, alternating between days and nights.

Job description

Please note this is a temporary role covering sickness – Initially 1 month, could be longer.

Key Responsibilities : – Competences

• Cut cores to the required specification.
• Plan the core cutting schedule as per production planning sheets, including input on AS400.
• Ensure waste is kept to a minimum.
• Sort, clean and identify customer returned cores and store correctly.
• Carry out stock checks of all cores as required.
• Complete and follow all task cards and instructions relevant to operational area.
• Ensure housekeeping and hygiene standards are consistently maintained.
• Assist in direct training of new core cutting operators, including production operators, under the direction of your Supervisor, Manager or Training Manager.
• Completion of ad hoc duties to meet the needs of the business, subject to appropriate training.
• Completion of duties in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, making recommendations for improvement through Health & Safety Representative as appropriate.

Person specification – Who you need to be

• Have a good general level of education
• Ideally have a background in core cutting or manufacturing
• Ability to work closely with other members of the team ensuring cooperation and a team working atmosphere
• Have excellent attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Counterbalance FLT licence and at least 6 months experience
