Job description

Client Onboarding & Regulatory Data Services (CORDS) is an Operations function within Morgan Stanley and is responsible for regulatory client onboarding, refresh and screening of the firms clients. KYC Refresh supports a number of regulatory compliance requirements specified by our local/global regulators and provides a rigorous and robust process of investigation that seeks, with reasonable assurance, to verify and validate the customer's identity and their business. The Glasgow High Risk KYC Refresh team manages the refresh program across global jurisdictions and ensures timely and accurate completion of periodic refresh reviews of the firm's clients. The team partners closely with Global Financial Crimes, Legal and Compliance, and internal/external stakeholders to contribute to the success of the refresh program. Morgan Stanley is seeking an Associate for the High Risk KYC Refresh team in Glasgow.

What will you be doing?
  • Perform timely and accurate completion of periodic KYC Refresh reviews for the firm's clients.
  • Directly engage with clients to collect required documents and associated information to meet all regulatory and internal policies.
  • Serve as point of contact for KYC and/or designated clients.
  • Stay current with all regulatory changes and requirements around client KYC, suitability and documentation.
  • Escalate appropriately any risks identified during the documentation review process.
  • Engage in continuous process improvement and innovation.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on required AML/KYC documents and process.
  • Discuss and elevate issues surrounding client types and structures, financial products and services, and other AML risk-related issues with Financial Crime stakeholders.
  • Lead ongoing change initiatives and build/maintain a strong understanding of the relevant MS policies and regulatory environment.

  • Previous experience working in an AML/KYC role, preferred either in case‑management or QC type roles.
  • Strong attention to detail and dedication to meeting and maintaining high quality standards.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, able to confidently engage with clients and to influence internal stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Strong risk and controls awareness.

  • Proficient user of Excel and other MS Office tools.
  • Certification in AML/KYC (e.g., CAMS) is desirable but not essential.
