Science In Sport Group is a world leader in sports and performance nutrition. We have two brands: SiS and PhD Nutrition, with products sold through phd.com and scienceinsport.com, third‑party marketplaces, and extensive retail distribution. We partner with elite teams and athletes and operate a state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing and logistics facility in Blackburn, Lancashire.
We are looking for a dynamic Copywriter & Editor to craft sharp, inspiring, high‑impact written content across all Science in Sport channels, including for the PhD brand. This role supports product launches, brand campaigns, athlete partnerships, and digital content to educate, engage, and drive revenue. It is suited for a modern, adaptable creative who loves language and collaboration and understands human storytelling and AI‑assisted ideation.
The Role
Copywriter & Editor responsible for creating compelling copy across channels and helping tell stories that connect emotionally and drive results.
- Job Type: Fulltime, Permanent
- Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum
- Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5.30pm

The Work – Your 4 Most Important Responsibilities
- Storytelling – Telling a consistent and compelling brand story across all our channels.
- Performance Monitoring – Analyse content performance metrics (e.g., engagement, conversion rates) and use insights to refine and improve future copy.
- Brand Voice and Tone – Maintain a consistent brand voice across all content and adapt tone and style based on audience and platform.
- Content Strategy and Planning – Help develop and maintain a content calendar and align copy with broader marketing goals and brand messaging.
Accountability – What You Are Responsible For Delivering
- Develop compelling copy across brand campaigns, product launches, and athlete collaborations.
- Write and contribute to website articles
- Write and edit copy for web, e‑commerce, paid media, email, social media, and packaging.
- Use insights, SEO data, and performance metrics to refine copy and maximise engagement.
- Craft punchy, scroll‑stopping headlines and CTAs for digital channels.
- Conduct research on industry‑related topics, target audiences, competitors, and trends to inform content creation.
- Understand the product or service to effectively communicate its value.
- Work closely with marketing, design, product, and sales teams to develop content strategies and campaigns.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas.
Capability – the skills and behaviours required to do this job well
- Proven experience as a copywriter within a consumer brand, creative agency, or sports marketing environment.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a strong understanding of tone and brand voice.
- Proficiency in digital copywriting across multiple platforms (social, email, web, paid).
- Experience or demonstrated interest in using AI tools for creative ideation, research or drafting

Specific metrics will be set when in role and will be reviewed and built upon regularly. You will be supported with a personal performance plan to continue improving your own performance and impact.
Attributes
- Passion for sport, health & fitness, and performance culture, ideally with personal interest or experience in endurance or team sports
- Familiarity with e‑commerce environments and conversion‑driven copywriting
- Understanding of UX copy principles and writing for digital journeys
- Experience collaborating within cross‑functional marketing teams
