Job summary

Outcomes First Group is seeking a Cooking Instructor/Teacher for Heath Farm College in Maidstone. The role involves delivering hands-on cooking lessons to small groups of learners aged 14-19 with SEMH needs, guiding them toward vocational qualifications and everyday living skills.

The ideal candidate holds a Level 3 Cookery qualification, a teaching certificate and an assessor qualification, with a passion for inclusion, wellbeing and personalised education.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Professional Cookery, Catering, Hospitality, Food Preparation, Nutrition or related subject.
• Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, AET, PTLLS, DTLLS or equivalent).
• An Assessor qualification (TAQA, A1, D32/33 or equivalent).
• Food Hygiene certification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging practical cooking and food preparation lessons to small groups of students.
• Teach vocational cooking and catering qualifications up to Level 2.
• Support students to develop independence through practical life skills including meal planning and budgeting.
• Adapt learning to meet individual EHCP outcomes and personal development goals.
• Assess student progress and celebrate achievements.
• Promote food hygiene, kitchen safety and healthy lifestyle choices.
