Overview

Cook Supervisor – Contract: Permanent

Hours: 28.75 hours, 39 weeks (term time plus one week)

Working pattern: 8.15am – 2pm, Monday to Friday

Salary: Pathway 4, £19,656 - £20,985 per annum (FTE £29,540 - £31,537)

Site: Gladstone Primary Academy

Closing date: 9am on Friday 19th December

Start date: ASAP

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the catering operation across two primary schools, based mainly at Gladstone Primary Academy.
  • Lead a dedicated team, manage budgets, and ensure menus are healthy, appealing, and meet all nutritional standards.
  • Plan and prepare meals and complete weekly and monthly bookwork to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Visit the second school at least once a week and support occasional out-of-school activities.
  • Engage with children about menu choices to make mealtimes a positive experience.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Experience in catering and team management.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Willingness to visit the second school at least weekly and support occasional out-of-school activities.
  • Fluency in English to meet Fluency Duty requirements as outlined in the Immigration Act 2016.
