Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a high-volume catering environment.
  • Previous Lead Chef, Sous Chef or production kitchen experience.
  • Knowledge of contract catering and staff training desirable.
  • Professional appearance with a strong focus on hygiene.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Prepare 400-600 meals daily to a high standard and on schedule
  • Ensure all food is produced in line with HACCP and Sodexo guidelines, with accurate record keeping
  • Provide efficient and friendly service to customers during meal times
  • Maintain kitchen and service areas to the highest hygiene standards, completing all required documentation
  • Support the Chef Manager with buffets, functions, stock control and ordering
  • Assist with food preparation in the Grab & Go unit and Walmer House as required
  • Report incidents or customer feedback promptly, ensuring documentation is completed
  • Contribute to the training and development of junior catering team members
  • Play a key role in the smooth running of the catering operation
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a high-volume catering environment
  • Strong teamwork, communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and remain calm under pressure
  • Passionate about food and customer service
  • Supervising Food Safely Level 3 qualification (essential)
  • IOSH Managing Safely or similar qualification (desirable)
  • Previous Lead Chef, Sous Chef or production kitchen experience

Pay: 14.23 per hour

Working Hours: 12-18 hours per week. Shifts: 1st week 12 hours & 2nd week 18 hours, distributed Wed & Thurs (1st week) and Wed - Fri (2nd week).
