Job description

Connect Appointments are seeking a skilled Cook/Chef to join our client's Larbert team and contribute to the success of their catering department.

What's on offer?
  • 5 days over 7, hours between 6am to 6:30pm - but flexibility for earlier starts is required
  • Hourly pay of £14.52, rising to £25.26 per hour for weekend work

As the Cook/Chef, you will be responsible for preparing, producing, presenting, and serving menu items to customers while adhering to Health and Safety practices and Food Hygiene Regulations. You will also provide direction to Catering Assistants in the preparation of menu items.

Your responsibilities as a Cook/Chef will include, but not limited to:
  • Organise chill and freezer storage while maintaining cleanliness
  • Use all equipment safely and correctly
  • Maintain hygiene standards in all food preparation, production, and holding areas; complying with food hygiene regulations and HACCP policy
  • Monitor and record temperatures of chillers, freezers, food, and holding areas
  • Develop and introduce new lines as appropriate
  • Prepare, produce, and present therapeutic and special diets

To be successful in this role you will ideally have a level 3 food hygiene certificate. You must also have an in-date PVG. Combined with:

  • Customer care/service skills
  • Knowledge of nutrition and dietetics
  • Manual handling skills
  • COSHH knowledge
  • HACCP knowledge
  • IT knowledge of ordering systems and PDA use
