Job summary

A catering service provider in Coleraine seeks a Cook / Chef to prepare and present meals for patients and staff at Causeway Hospital. Responsibilities include adhering to hygiene standards, assisting with menu planning, and maintaining a clean kitchen environment. Job description

Join the catering team at Causeway Hospital as a Cook / Chef and use your skills to help deliver nutritious, high-quality meals to patients and staff every day.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, cook and present meals in accordance with set menus, dietary requirements and portion controls.
  • Ensure all food is prepared and stored safely, following hygiene and HACCP standards.
  • Assist with menu planning and the ordering of ingredients to maintain stock levels.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation in all kitchen areas, including equipment and work surfaces.
  • Work collaboratively with catering assistants and other staff to ensure timely meal service across the hospital.
Skills and Qualifications
  • NVQ level 2 food preparation or equivalent.
  • Mandatory Training requirements: Food Safety level 2, COSHH, Fire, Manual handling, Food allergens and Knowledge of Dysphagia diet (desirable).
  • As part of the Recruitment & Selection process it may be necessary for the Organisation to carry out an Enhanced Disclosure Check through Access NI before any appointment to this post can be confirmed.
