Overview

Aramark UK are currently recruiting a Cook/Experienced Catering Assistant in their Healthcare sector to join our team in Dundee, DD1 1NQ. You will assist with the production of hot and cold food, deli grab & go items, and serve on the hot food counter at breakfast and lunchtime, while providing excellent customer care and ensuring all Health and Safety regulations are followed.

The site supports individuals facing addiction, mental health challenges, homelessness, and those who have been involved in the criminal justice system. The role may involve a challenging environment, and the successful candidate should be strong-willed, empathetic, and accepting of people from all walks of life.

This is a part-time position, 25 hours per week, working 5 days over 7 including some weekend work. Shifts range between 7:30am and 6:00pm. The hourly rate is £13.40.

A day in the life of a Cook

• Prepare both hot and cold food and serve breakfast, main meals, and desserts in a canteen-style environment within a homeless hostel
• Serve on the hot counter at breakfast and lunchtime; monitor dish stock and follow Food Safety procedures
• Place orders, perform stock takes, store deliveries, and conduct daily/weekly deep cleans
• Clean and maintain areas and ensure all health and safety protocols are followed

Requirements

• Relevant cookery/culinary qualification is desirable, but consideration will be given to candidates with 2 years minimum catering experience
• Food hygiene level 2 is desirable but may be obtained via online e-learning
