Job summary

Aurem Care is inviting applications for a part-time cook to support our care home teams in the United Kingdom. The role involves meal preparation, adhering to HACCP standards, and ensuring high-quality service for all meal times.

You will work 30 hours per week, including weekends, 8am to 6pm. We offer 28 days leave, DBS free, meals provided, pension, training, and annual salary reviews. Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience required.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and HACCP procedures preferred.
• Ability to work well in a team and in a fast-paced kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare special diet meals according to care staff instructions.
• Maintain high service levels for all meal times.
• Complete HACCP documentation.
• Report defects to equipment to the Home Manager.
• Ensure quality and portion control.
• Assist Head Chef with four weekly menu planning.
• Carry out ad hoc duties to meet service delivery.

  Must have previous cooking experience
• You will be able to work well as part of a team and independently showing creativity and passion for the work you do
• Be able to follow and prioritise tasks and responsibilities
• Proficiency in food preparation techniques
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Great communication skills

• Part time contract
• Hours: 30, including weekend work

• Pay: £16.32 per hour (equivalent to £25,459 per annum)
• Salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications
