Job summary

Exemplar Health Care is seeking a Cook for Hylton Grange care home in Sunderland. You will prepare nutritious meals, handle dietary needs, and help create a positive dining experience for residents. A food hygiene certificate and catering qualification are preferred but not required, with induction and ongoing training provided.

You will join a supportive catering team, delivering meals that promote nutrition, social interaction, and community spirit within the care home setting.

Contract type: 40hrs per week

Rate: £13.27 per hour

Are you an experienced Cook looking for a new challenge? Join us as our new Cook at Hylton Grange care home in Sunderland.

In this role, you’ll cook delicious, healthy and nutritious meals for the people we support in our care home.

Meal times are an important part of our daily routine, even moreseo for those living in care homes.

In this role, you’ll ensure that everyone has a positive dining experience, to increase nutritional intake, promote social interaction and build a sense of community.

About The Role

Our Cooks make delicious and nourishing meals for people with a range of dietary requirements.

No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• preparing, cooking and serving food
• understanding people’s needs, likes and choices to develop suitable menus
• interacting with the people we support to get feedback on meals
• complying with food hygiene standards
• completing relevant checks and maintaining records
• being a great team player, working as part of the wider Catering Team.
