Meridian Senior Living seeks a Cook to join our dining team in Lancaster. You will work closely with the Dining Services Manager to order, prepare, and deliver meals, while maintaining kitchen sanitation and food safety standards.

We value compassion for the elderly, teamwork, and reliable communication with residents, staff, and families. Prior food service experience and a state food handler permit are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months’ prior food service experience preferred.
• Food handlers permit as required by state regulations.
• Experience working with the elderly preferred.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families and staff.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and deliver meals and snacks for residents.
• Order supplies and assist with kitchen organization and sanitation.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents and visitors.
• Support Dining Services Manager in daily kitchen operations.

Details About The Cook Position We Are Hiring For

As a Cook, you will work closely with our Dining Services Manager and will be responsible for the Community’s food ordering, preparation, and delivery as well as kitchen sanitation. Cook tasks in this role include ensuring food is prepared in a nutritional and appetizing fashion, maintaining supplies and equipment, and providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and successfully complete training as required by State regulations.
• Six (6) months’ prior experience in a food service department preferred.
• Supervisory experience desirable.
• Obtain Food Handlers Permit as required by State regulations.
• Previous experience working with the elderly.
• Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
• Must demonstrate the ability to work responsibly as a team member as well as an individual.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors and the general public.
• Must meet all health requirements and pass background checks.
