Part-Time Cook / Chef – Harewood Park Nursing Home

Location: Cheadle, Staffordshire
Pay: £12.85 per hour
Contract: Permanent, Part-Time
Hours: 20 per week | 2 × 10-hour shifts
Schedule: Flexible weekdays, typically including 1 in 3 weekends
Alternative shift patterns, such as weekend-only, may be available

We’re looking for a caring, enthusiastic Cook / Chef to join our team at Harewood Park Nursing Home. This is a fulfilling part-time position where your freshly prepared meals will help create a warm, homely environment for our residents.

About Harewood Park

Harewood Park Nursing Home provides high-quality residential and specialist care for adults with mental health conditions, learning disabilities, and complex needs. Our focus is on supporting wellbeing — and that includes nutritious, comforting meals prepared with care and attention to detail.

Your Main Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook healthy, balanced meals and desserts using fresh ingredients
  • Adapt menus to meet residents’ dietary requirements, including diabetics, vegetarians, and those with allergies
  • Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and fully compliant with food hygiene standards
  • Follow menu plans while helping with menu development and stock control
  • Work collaboratively with the care team to ensure residents’ nutritional needs are always met
  • Support environmental health record-keeping, audits, and daily kitchen checks
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience in a catering, care, or similar kitchen setting (preferred)
  • Awareness of specialist diets and allergen management
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (required)
  • Level 3 Food Hygiene or HACCP training (advantageous)
  • A caring, reliable approach and genuine passion for home-cooked food
