A local authority is seeking a Cook to join their team at a children's home in Cambridgeshire. The Cook will be responsible for preparing healthy meals while ensuring high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness. Ideal candidates should have experience in the catering industry, a Food Hygiene Certificate, and be able to work flexible shifts including weekends. All about the Role
To assist and produce a range of food and drinks for the Home. To support the service in promoting the need for a nutritious and balanced diet.
Maintain Health and Safety, waste management and food hygiene standards within the home and kitchen.
Work within a rota pattern of shifts including 14:00-19:00 weekdays and working alternate weekends 10:00-15:00.
To maintain an awareness of the specific needs of individuals e.g. food allergens, vegetarians, controlled diets and ethnic minority groups.
Take responsibility for high standards of food hygiene including maintaining the cleanliness of all kitchen areas and food equipment. This will include keeping safe food records and the execution of cleaning schedules.

Cherry Lodge is a local authority children's home and offers short breaks and shared care placements to children and young people with severe disabilities, complex health and behaviours that challenge between the ages of 5 and 19. It has a dedicated and knowledgeable staff team who are child focused and thrive to provide young people with opportunities, development and experiences.
