Job summary

St Mary’s Primary School Cushendall is seeking a part-time cook to join the school kitchen team. The role involves assisting with meal preparation, portion control and the handling of dietary requirements.

You will share supervision of staff, support record-keeping and HACCP hygiene practices. The post is fixed-term until 30 September 2027, 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 2 in food preparation and cooking or City & Guilds 706-1 & 706-2 or higher qualification
• Two years’ experience of food preparation and cooking within a catering establishment
• Knowledge of HACCP
• Willingness to undertake job related training

Responsibilities

• Skilled cooking activities for the full range of meals; assist with menu preparation and portion control.
• Assist with record keeping and HACCP hygiene controls.
• Direct and/or share supervision of other staff in the kitchen.
• Undertake service point operations and stock management as required.
• General kitchen duties including washing up, cleaning, and equipment setup.
