Job summary

A reputable legal firm in Devon is seeking a Legal Assistant for a full-time position in the Conveyancing Department. Responsibilities include managing client enquiries, preparing legal documents, and coordinating completions. Ideal candidates should have at least 1 year of experience in a conveyancing team and familiarity with legal software. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on legal procedures.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year full time work experience within a conveyancing team.
  • Full knowledge of the full Conveyancing process from start to finish.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Comfortable in fast paced environment.
  • Familiar with Legal software (additional training will be provided).

Responsibilities

  • Manage new client enquiries, instructions, and on boarding processes.
  • Prepare contract packs and draft/review legal documents.
  • Obtain and review property searches and related reports.
  • Liaise with clients, solicitors, estate agents, lenders, and local authorities.
  • Coordinate post-exchange work and prepare completion statements.
  • Manage completions, including mortgage funds and transfers.
  • Handle post-completion tasks such as registrations and SDLT returns.
  • Maintain accurate records and update case management systems.
  • Assist with billing and invoicing related to conveyancing files.
  • Support the team in resolving issues or delays during transactions.

Skills
