You will work alongside Property Lawyers to progress matters, undertake complex legal and procedural approvals, and ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements across a range of freehold, leasehold, unregistered, new build, and shared ownership transactions.

During peak holiday periods, your role will be to ensure files continue to progress smoothly by managing legal approvals, coordinating handovers, and maintaining momentum on key tasks. You will be involved in drafting documents, handling complex approvals, liaising with third parties where required, and supporting the wider operational objectives of the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the handling of complex post-completion requirements and ensuring all post completion matters are resolved promptly and accurately.
  • Support regular pipeline reviews to help drive performance and improve departmental KPIs.
  • Facilitate a seamless transfer of files between the Property Lawyer and yourself to maintain continuity in file progress and ensure smooth internal operations.
  • Ensure that all files are maintained in good order in compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and following regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Proactively deal with the other side solicitors, mortgage lenders, brokers and local authorities.
  • Recognise potential risks and resolve issues without putting the department or business at risk.
  • Comply at all times with the SRA Standards and Regulations and Law Society CQS standards.
  • Optimise departmental efficiency through the use of our conveyancing systems and technology.
  • Develop a culture of teamwork and high performance with a strong focus on quality and compliance.

  • Commercial awareness, keeping up to date with business and industry news.
  • Resilience with the ability to work effectively under pressure and to strict deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, and an analytical approach to come to the best legal solutions.
  • Attention to detail, extremely accurate in research and the drafting of documents.
  • Enthusiastic team player and natural self-starter able to work independently.
