Mic helmores LLP seeks a Conveyancing Assistant to join our Residential Property team in the Exeter or Cambridge office. You will support residential transactions and deliver a first-class service to clients, handling file management, drafting contracts, and Land Registry submissions.

The role requires prior residential property experience, strong client-facing skills, and a proactive, organised approach to meet deadlines while complying with regulatory and internal policies.

Responsibilities

  • Undertaking file management for residential transactions and archiving.
  • Drafting contracts, initial letters, protocol forms, SDLTs and TR1s.
  • Submitting property searches and Land Registry searches.
  • Managing post-exchange and completion formalities.
  • Supporting post and incoming mail handling.
  • Ensuring bills comply with Solicitors Accounts Rules.

What sort of work?

Right now, we have an exciting opportunity for a Conveyancing Assistant to join our highly experienced Residential Property team in our Exeter or Cambridge office.

In this role, you will support the team in residential transactions and delivering a first-class service to our clients.

This will include:

  • Undertaking file management to include, scheduling of deeds and documents, completing the archiving process and complying the e-filing.
  • Drafting of contracts, initial letters, protocol forms, completion statements/SDLTs/TR1s.
  • Submitting property searches/Land Registry searches.
  • Drafting and submitting Land Registry applications via the Land Registry Portal/Infotrack.
  • Managing post exchange and completion formalities.
  • Supporting on incoming and outgoing post formalities as required
  • Complying with internal policies and procedures, ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Managing files diligently and review each regularly.
  • Understanding the obligations relating to client accounts and ensure that the preparation and service of bills complies with Solicitors Accounts Rules

  • Excellent organisational skills and experience of multi-tasking and an ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a flexible and proactive way
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; effective communicator at all levels (written and verbal) as the successful candidate will be liaising with clients.

Other skills required include:

  • A commercial, pro-active 'can do' and professional approach to work.
  • Excelled attention to detail.
  • Must interact well with others in a sensitive and effective way - a team player.
  • Understand the importance of confidentiality and use of discretion.
