Job summary

Automation Experts is seeking a experienced Controls & Robotics Integration Engineer to design, program and commission bespoke automation systems across the UK and overseas. You will work on varied projects, integrating PLC, HMI/SCADA, and robotic systems, travelling to customer sites as required.

The role offers diverse technical challenges, exposure to Rockwell, Siemens and leading robot platforms, and a chance to mentor colleagues while delivering high standards on international projects.

Qualifications

• Proven industrial controls & robotics programming and integration experience.
• PLC programming using Rockwell and/or Siemens platforms.
• HMI, SCADA and industrial network programming.
• Experience with Fanuc, ABB, Kawasaki or Nachi robotics manufacturers.

Responsibilities

• Concept design and integration of PLC, HMI and SCADA systems with networking.
• Programming and integrating industrial robotic systems (Fanuc experience ideal).
• Developing complete control architecture solutions for bespoke projects.
• Supporting system design from concept through to commissioning.
• Installing, commissioning and optimising systems on customer sites.
• Fault finding and supporting existing installations.
• Managing technical aspects of projects and timelines.
• Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Mentoring colleagues in control and robotics technologies.

We're recruiting on behalf of a growing automation engineering business that designs and delivers bespoke robotic and factory automation solutions for manufacturers across the UK and overseas.

With a strong order book and an increasing number of international projects, they're looking to appoint an experienced Controls & Robotics Integration Engineer to play a key role in delivering innovative automation systems from concept through to commissioning.

This is an opportunity to work on genuinely bespoke projects rather than repetitive production environments. Every system is different, offering plenty of technical variety and the chance to work with a range of controls & robotic platforms and automation technologies.

Controls & Robotics Integration Engineer - The Role

• Concept design & integration of PLC, HMI & SCADA systems including all networking requirements - Rockwell and/or Siemens
• Programming and integrating industrial robotic systems - Fanuc experience ideal
• Developing complete control architecture solutions
• Supporting system design from concept through to commissioning
• Installing, commissioning and optimising systems on customer sites
• Fault finding and supporting existing installations
• Managing technical aspects of projects
• Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Supporting and mentoring colleagues in control & robotics technologies
• Ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high technical standard

Controls & Robotics Integration Engineer - The Person

• We're keen to speak with Robotics Engineers, Automation Engineers or Controls Engineers who can demonstrate:
• Proven industrial controls & robotics programming and integration experience
• PLC programming using Rockwell and/or Siemens platforms
• HMI, SCADA and indutrial network programming
• Experience with one or more leading robot manufacturers including Fanuc, ABB, Kawasaki or Nachi
• Experience within manufacturing or industrial automation environments
• Knowledge of industrial control systems and industrial networking
• Strong fault-finding and commissioning skills
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
• Any additional skills with Eplan, machine vision or background of packaging machinery highly beneficial.

Due to the nature of the role, applicants should be willing to travel regularly, hold a full UK driving licence and be eligible to travel internationally - approx 40% with occassional weekend work.
