Summary of the Role

This is a Control/Instrumentation Engineer role in an industrial manufacturing environment. Key aspects of the role include:

Core Responsibilities
  • Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve failures in control systems.

  • Projects: Design, specify, and install control and safety systems (PLCs, BPCS, SIS, DCS, SCADA, HMI).

  • Change Management: Review and implement modifications to control systems (MOC).

  • Programming: Configure and program Allen Bradley systems (RSLogix 500, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View).

Technical Skills Required
  • Understanding of functional safety, SIL, LOPA, Safety Instrumented Systems.

  • Familiar with documentation: Cause & Effect diagrams, Loop Drawings, FDS, URS, Schematics.

  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet, DH+, Modbus, ProfiNet, etc.).

  • Basic knowledge of relevant BS/IEC standards. 61508, 61511.

  • OT Cybersecurity, IIOT, and AI familiarity is a plus.

  • Competency with AutoCAD or similar tools.

  • Instrumentation engineering background is advantageous.

Experience & Qualifications
  • Minimum HNC in Controls, Electronics, or Instrument Engineering.

  • 5+ years post-HNC experience in an industrial manufacturing setting.

  • Ability to handle multiple complex tasks with flexibility.

Industry Preference
  • Chemical manufacturing.

  • Large‑scale processes.

  • Hazardous Areas (ATEX), Intrinsic Safety.

Package Details
  • Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Dayshift)

  • Holidays: 25 + 8 bank holidays

  • Pension: 3-5%

  • Life Assurance: 4x salary

  • OT/Shift Allowance: Not guaranteed
