Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Controls Engineer for a food manufacturer in West London. This role involves maintaining control systems and ensuring processes operate efficiently and safely. Ideal candidates will have strong mechanical and electrical skills, along with experience in fault finding and software development. Knowledge of project management and food safety regulations is also essential. Competitive salary up to £58,000 offered.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure control systems operate efficiently and safely.
  • Maintain existing control systems, primarily Siemens, Schneider, and Allen Bradley.
  • Implement improvements to reduce breakdowns and increase efficiency.

Shift Pattern: Monday Friday, 07:00 -15:30

Salary: up to £58,000

Synergi is looking for a Controls Engineer to work for a leading food manufacturer in West London with strong mechanical and electrical skills. You will be responsible for control systems within workshops, plant rooms and production environments. Your primary goal will be to ensure that processes and systems operate efficiently, safely, and reliably.

Experience and Skills will include:

  • Experience in fault finding and maintaining existing control systems, preferably with Siemens, Schneider and Allen Bradley
  • Experience of software development and programming languages including ladder, structured text, function block diagram
  • Knowledge of communication protocols and networks; Ethernet, Modbus, Serial etc.
  • Strong electrical knowledge and understanding of control related systems
  • Knowledge and experience of project management in an FMCG environment preferred
  • Knowledge / awareness off functional safety
  • H&S/Food Safety systems & legislation knowledge e.g. PUWER, IOSH able to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Proven experience of improvements resulting in a reduction of breakdowns or increased efficiency
  • Passionate about quality and best practice whilst driving continuous improvement
  • Experience of working in fast paced Manufacturing environment
  • Formal electrical automation training with an awareness of process and mechanical engineering.
