Overview

Controls Design Engineer - Automated Material Handling & Intralogistics (Hybrid - Adderbury). Join a global leader in intelligent automation and intralogistics solutions as a Controls Design Engineer. This hybrid Adderbury-based role offers hands-on involvement in cutting-edge material handling projects across the UK, Ireland, Nordics, and wider EMEA region.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement PLC, HMI, and SCADA control systems (Siemens S7 / TIA Portal).
  • Develop, test, and validate PLC software in virtual environments.
  • Support commissioning, documentation, and CE compliance.
  • Interpret electrical schematics and assist with system integration.
  • Drive improvements in safety, quality, and project delivery.
Requirements
  • HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, or Controls Engineering.
  • Proven experience in industrial automation or material handling.
  • Knowledge of Profinet, Profibus, ASi, or Ethernet/IP networks.
  • Experience in software testing and distributed control systems.
  • UK Driving Licence with travel flexibility (up to 60% UK & EMEA).

Location: Hybrid - Adderbury (open to strong candidates across the UK)
