Automation Engineer

SMS are a well-established SME working in the fast growing field of advanced industrial automation including motion control and robotics. Because of continued growth in the sector we require an experienced Controls and Automation engineer to work within our engineering team.

SMS have key partnerships in place with both large suppliers and large customers and have a well established development process.

We work with new and exciting technologies including robotics and a wide range of electronics and mechatronic devices. We develop new machines for certain clients as well as providing high level support to OEMs and Machine Developers.

This role would suit someone wishing to be in design and development but also wanting to be part of team communicating at high and regular levels with the customer and their requirements.

We have a great team in place to work alongside.

Skills required
  • Good knowledge of the design of software for automated machinery
  • Knowledge of product development management
  • Working Knowledge of Drive controls including servos and stepper motors.
