Job summary

Goldman Sachs is seeking an experienced software engineer to join the Reporting Platform team, delivering cloud-based regulatory reporting solutions used across the firm.

You will design and build end-to-end systems in an Agile environment, collaborate with Finance stakeholders, and contribute to data modelling and distributed microservices while leveraging AWS tools such as S3, Lambda and Fargate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 6+ years of software development experience.
  • Strong analysis and design skills, including knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and performance-oriented design.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and business audiences, and comfort working with multiple global stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Overview

Controllers Engineering is responsible for designing and implementing solutions that support financial measurement and reporting, including revenue, balance sheet, liquidity, and capital. The team also helps meet the firm’s global regulatory financial reporting obligations and builds tools that drive efficiency and consistency across controller functions.


Reporting Platform

The Reporting team builds a common cloud‑based reporting platform to simplify how the firm handles financial regulatory reporting. They create a unified, scalable platform using common data models and reusable validation and exception workflows to replace fragmented legacy processes. Engineers leverage cutting‑edge AI tooling to accelerate development of automated workflows and ensure consistent, accurate reporting worldwide.


Responsibilities


  • Manage end‑to‑end systems development in an Agile environment, from requirements analysis through coding, testing, UAT, implementation, and maintenance.

Basic Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Strong communication skills with both technical and business audiences, and comfort working with multiple global stakeholders.


Expert Knowledge in One or More of


  • Hands‑on programming experience in Java or Python.

  • Significant solutions architecture and system design experience.

  • Experience using Agentic AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Co‑Pilot Agent Mode, or Devin.

  • Experience with cloud technologies – ideally AWS – including S3, SQS, Lambda, and Fargate.

  • Strong RDBMS knowledge.

  • Experience developing distributed, micro‑services‑based applications.

  • Experience with data modelling and curation for large‑scale datasets.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Knowledge or interest in investment banking or financial instruments.

  • Experience with big data concepts, such as Lakehouse or ETL data pipelines (e.g., Spark, AWS Glue).

  • Experience with near‑real‑time and event‑based systems like Kafka.
