Job title: Control Systems Engineer (Research & Technology Team)

What you’ll be doing:

• Designing and assisting in the build of prototypes, products and systems suitable for testing, including the development of new products using novel technologies
• System and sub-system validation and verification, including supporting system design reviews.
• Component/interface specification and selection
• Application of Control Systems Engineering practices to ensure design safety, reliability, integration and performance requirements are met
• Tailor and develop Systems Engineering practices to suit the needs of a particular project / programme of work
• Problem solving and providing timely corrective actions on all assigned defects and issues
• This role requires travel within the UK

Your skills and experiences:

Essentials:

• Experience of practical system design using MATLAB/Simulink, particularly of control systems
• Degree qualified in a relevant Engineering or Systems discipline or significant equivalent industry experience
• Mechanical/Electrical/Software background or similar, with working experience on complex engineering projects
• Understanding and experience working with system communication protocols, e.g. CAN bus

Desirables:

• Working knowledge of autonomous systems
• Working knowledge and application of model-based systems engineering (MBSE)
• Trials and practical experience of systems integration, installation and commissioning
