£55,000 to £70,000 depending on experience + Great Benefits
Excellent opportunity for a Control Systems Engineer with strong Siemens PLC programming and motion control experience to take ownership of projects developing bespoke manufacturing machinery.
This well-established engineering and manufacturing business designs and builds specialist machinery for customers worldwide. They are looking for an electrically biased Control Systems Engineer to join their in-house R&D team, developing new machinery and improving existing systems.
In this role, you will develop PLC, HMI, multi-axis servo motion control and safety software, alongside electrical schematics and technical documentation. You will take projects from concept and design through programming, testing and commissioning, working closely with mechanical engineers, customers and suppliers. The position also involves fault-finding, upgrades and occasional UK and international travel to support commissioning and training.
The ideal candidate will have a manufacturing background, strong Siemens PLC programming skills and hands-on experience with motion control and HMI development. An electrical bias is essential, with exposure to Mitsubishi systems advantageous. Experience working within an in-house machinery design and build environment would be particularly well suited.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established manufacturer in a varied R&D position, where you can see your ideas progress from initial concept through to working machinery used by customers worldwide.
