This is an exciting opportunity to join the small team delivering the waste management contracts and infrastructure to continue to deliver outstanding performance and make a significant contribution to residents and businesses in Dorset.

This post presents an excellent opportunity to develop and expand your existing knowledge, skills and experiences within a busy environment, located in the beautiful rural setting of Dorset, and close to the famous Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site.

What You Will Be Doing

The Contracts Team Leader post is located within the Commissioning Team which sits in Commercial and Strategy section of Place Services. The team is primarily responsible for the delivery and maintenance of waste infrastructure and for the development and monitoring of contracts.

The role includes the development of new innovative contracts for waste services, including front facing Household Recycling Centres, and the monitoring of these contracts. In addition, the role interfaces with the in-house waste collection service, implementing solutions for greater efficiency as services develop.

The service works collaboratively across the Council and with strategic partners, to promote innovation, to secure the best outcomes and value for Dorset's residents and customers. The role may involve consulting with elected council members.

About You

Educated to degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline and member of a professional body (or eligible for membership) you will have substantial experience in waste contracts and management of a team. Continuing Professional Development is essential in the role, as is the enthusiasm to undertake further relevant training.
