Job summary

SEED Environmental, part of the Celnor Group, is seeking a Contracts Manager to cover the North Doncaster or Preston area within its Fire & Flood division. You will oversee insurance repair projects from survey to final accounts, coordinating with policyholders, insurers and subcontractors.

The role requires strong project management, stakeholder engagement and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, ensuring quality, safety and timely delivery.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing construction, insurance reinstatement, fire and flood restoration or property repair projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods and building repair works.
  • Experience preparing project costings, valuations and final accounts.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience supervising subcontractors and site teams.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Desirable: SMSTS qualification; knowledge of health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Visit policyholders and stakeholders to assess damage and agree scopes of work.
  • Manage insurance repair projects from initial survey through to completion.
  • Prepare costings, valuations and contract documentation using internal systems and client portals.
  • Manage variations, interim valuations and final accounts.
  • Procure and manage subcontractor packages.
  • Monitor project progress and produce reports and updates.
  • Ensure subcontractor performance, workmanship and Health & Safety compliance.
  • Deliver projects on time, within budget and to quality standards.
  • Liaise with policyholders, insurers and loss adjusters throughout the lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with office-based staff to ensure document control and information management.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits and snagging activities.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join our Fire and Flood division, covering the North Doncaster or Preston area.

Working within our busy insurance repairs department, you will be responsible for managing projects arising from fire, flood, subsidence, impact and escape of water claims. The role combines surveying, estimating, project management and client liaison, overseeing projects from initial inspection through to final account.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong construction project management experience who enjoys working closely with clients, policyholders, subcontractors and insurers to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Visit policyholders and other stakeholders to assess damage, prepare schedules of repair and agree scopes of work.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
Essential Requirements
  • Previous experience managing construction, insurance reinstatement, fire and flood restoration or property repair projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods and building repair works.
  • Experience preparing project costings, valuations and final accounts.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience supervising subcontractors and site teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision‑making abilities.
  • Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
  • Experience within insurance reinstatement or property claims environments.
  • Experience reading and interpreting structural engineers' and surveyors' reports.
  • SMSTS qualification.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, quality and environmental management requirements.
