Job summary

Gallaway Construction Ltd is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee the delivery of multiple construction projects in the Greater Manchester region, typically valued between £1m and £3m. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will lead Site Managers from handover through to completion, ensuring safety, programme, budget and quality targets are met.

You will work closely with the Pre-Construction Manager and Commercial Team, build strong relationships with clients and supply chain

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of multiple construction projects from handover through to completion.
• Lead, support, and develop Site Managers and project teams.
• Monitor programmes, performance, risks and opportunities.
• Work with Commercial Team on procurement, variations, costs, and project performance.
• Maintain relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Ensure effective handover from pre-construction to project delivery.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety, quality and compliance.
• Champion Procore and company PM systems.

Job description

Gallaway Construction is seeking an experienced and commercially aware Contracts Manager to oversee the delivery of multiple construction projects, typically valued between £1m and £3m. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and working alongside the Pre-Construction Manager, you will lead and support Site Managers from project handover through to completion. The role involves ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the required quality standards, while maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners. key responsibilites

• Oversee the delivery of multiple construction projects from handover through to completion.
• Lead, support, and develop Site Managers and project teams.
• Monitor project programmes, performance, risks, and opportunities.
• Work closely with the Commercial Team on procurement, variations, costs, and project performance.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Ensure effective handover from pre-construction to project delivery.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety, quality, and compliance.
• Champion the effective use of Procore and company project management systems.

requirements

• Proven construction management experience, ideally with a regional Main or Principal Contractor.
• Experience managing multiple construction projects simultaneously.
• Strong construction knowledge and commercial and contractual awareness.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead, challenge, and develop experienced project teams.
• Ability to build effective relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
• Flexibility to travel according to project locations.

Desirable (but not essential)

• Experience using Procore or a comparable construction management platform.
