Job summary

Riverside Group in London is seeking a Contracts Manager to support the Head of Asset Strategy & Delivery Housing and lead a team of surveyors in delivering investment works that underpin the Decent Homes standard.

You will manage multiple contracts across a large portfolio, ensuring robust contract management, procurement alignment and expert knowledge of building regulations. The role offers a hybrid pattern and a strong focus on service delivery and development.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head of Asset Strategy & Delivery Housing (South & London) in delivering planned and reactive investment works and achieving Decent Homes standards.
• Lead a team of Building Surveyors/Project Surveyors to deliver the Homes Strategy programme of works.
• Lead, motivate and engage Building Surveyors/Project Surveyors, establishing KPIs and communication to underpin the Homes Strategy.
• Develop and monitor contract management approaches, policies and guidance, pursuing continuous improvement.
• Oversee scoping, mobilisation and implementation of new contracts with procurement, assessing supplier competence and appointment decisions.
• Review existing contracted services to identify efficiencies and cost reductions and monitor improvements.

Job description

Job Title: Contracts Manager

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: £64,871 per annum

Working Hours: 35 hours per week

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday-Hybrid

Location: Arlington House, London

Role Profile

• Lead, motivate and engage with the Building Surveyors and Project Surveyors to ensure the delivery of a high-quality service, developing and implementing operational objectives, including key performance indicators and an effective communication strategy, to underpin the Homes Strategy including delivery of the required programme of works for an allocated number of Group residential properties of all tenures (excluding C&S properties).
• Develop, implement, and monitor the approach to contract management including associated policies, procedures and guidance, considering industry best practice and commercial requirements, proactively adopting new and innovative ideas and solutions to ensure continuous improvement of the service.
• Lead the scoping, specifying, mobilisation and implementation of an allocated number of new contracts, in conjunction with procurement colleagues, including assessing the competence of potential suppliers throughout the procurement process and acting as decision maker in terms of successful appointments, ensuring robust contract management arrangements are in place to effectively deliver the Asset Management Strategy.
• Undertake a review of existing contracted services, driving innovation and seeking out efficiencies and cost reduction opportunities, maintaining this approach on an ongoing basis with contractors over the contract lifecycle, identifying, implementing and monitoring improvement targets as appropriate.
