Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to lead roofing and cladding projects across the West of Scotland. You will own contracts from award to final account, directing site teams and ensuring safety, quality and on-time delivery on secure, restricted-access sites.

The role offers an immediate start, a competitive salary (£52,500–£60,000 DOE), pension and 34 days holiday, with ongoing opportunities for industry training and accreditations.

Qualifications

• SC clearance currently held or willing to obtain.
• HNC, HND or Degree in Construction Management or related discipline.
• SMSTS, CSCS Card (Manager level) and First Aid certification.
• Proven track record managing multiple contracts simultaneously from pre-construction through handover.
• Experience in both main contractor and subcontractor environments.
• Strong commercial awareness including cost control, valuations and variations.
• In-depth understanding of roofing and cladding systems and related contracts.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites throughout Scotland.

Job description

A specialist roofing and cladding contractor operating across Scotland is looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to lead projects in the West of Scotland. Much of the work takes place on secure, restricted-access sites, where entry is controlled, standards are exacting and there is little room for error. Relatively few contractors can operate in this space, making it a distinctive and rewarding area to build your career.
Packages cover felt and flat roofing, built-up systems, single ply, aluminium standing seam and rainscreen cladding, delivered for main contractors and direct clients. If you have managed envelope works in secure or sensitive environments before, you will already know the discipline these sites demand around access, programme and compliance, and that experience will be genuinely valued here.
You will take full ownership of your contracts from award through to final account, leading site teams daily and holding commercial, programme and quality responsibility. The business is looking for someone who can start as soon as possible and make an immediate impact.

Contracts Manager Job Overview

• Manage multiple roofing and cladding contracts, or one large scheme, from contract award through to final account
• Lead site teams daily, including Site Supervisors and subcontractors

Contracts Manager Requirements

• Currently holds or willing to obtain SC clearance
• HNC, HND or Degree in Construction Management or a related discipline
• SMSTS, CSCS Card (Manager level) and First Aid certification
• Proven track record managing multiple contracts simultaneously, from pre-construction through to handover
• Experience in both main contractor and subcontractor environments
• Strong commercial awareness, including cost control, valuations and variations
• In-depth understanding of roofing and cladding systems such as felt and flat roofing, built-up, single ply, aluminium standing seam and rainscreen
• Good knowledge of construction contracts, envelope detailing and quality control procedures
• Experience managing on-site labour, plant and materials within budget
• Strong leadership, negotiation and client-facing communication skills
• Confident with Excel, Word, SharePoint and OneDrive for reporting
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites throughout Scotland

Desirable

• 5+ years' experience in roofing and cladding or external envelope construction
• Experience on large-scale commercial and industrial roofing packages, ideally working with Tier 1 contractors
• Knowledge of facade systems, rainscreen cladding and metal roofing systems
• Understanding of fire regulations relating to external envelopes and sustainability standards such as BREEAM
• NEBOSH or IOSH, plus tickets such as PASMA, IPAF, MEWPs for Managers, Harness Inspection or FASET
• Experience with digital construction platforms such as Asite, Procore, Dalux or BIM 360
