Contracts Manager

Service and Maintenance

£24.73 per hour (PAYE)

£33.09 per hour (Umbrella)

Duration - 1 year

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Contract Manager will be responsible for ensuring service levels and value for money are realised for a range of service providers.

Main Activities
Health, Safety and Environment

Understand the key pieces of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation that apply to the scopes of work being managed and how those responsibilities are provisioned for in the client / contractor relationship. Ensure robust EHS governance processes are in place. Monitor performance and challenge both the contractor and the organisation to safeguard Health, Safety and Environmental performance and that any process confirmation processes used (set‑up on a regular basis) are robust, unambiguous and visible to all concerned.

Governance / Commercial Control

Understand customer requirements and ensure that the commercial arrangements accommodate them. Develop & deploy effective KPIs and governance to protect customer requirements.

Quality Control

Ensure Quality standards are achieved and relevant internal policies are adhered to. Receipt, analysis and onward communication to Service Provider on any quality documentation update related to their activity. Process confirm on a monthly basis. Service Provider Quality System Management. Where appropriate support the Practical Problem Solving analysis for abnormalities that the service provider is responsible for.

Procurement Interface

Maintain a good working relationship with Procurement and ensure that all procurement processes are adhered to. Support strategic procurement reviews (i.e. Quarterly Contract Reviews, Annual Contract Reviews, etc.) Provide key data and participate in procurement processes such as Request for Information, Call for Tender, Tender Evaluation and Service Provider Selection and Negotiation. With support of the Commercial Manager, ensure all contractual matters are dealt with promptly and in a joined up manner with Procurement and Legal.

Contractor / Customer Interface

Establish the correct Service Provider / Purchaser relationship based on the Form of Contract being worked to, which includes making sure all governance and control processes are in place and up to date. Provide a single point of contact for the Service Providers and the Internal Customers in terms of delivery and escalation. Oversee the deliverables of the Service Providers (both short term and long‑term deliverables), on behalf of internal customers, and ensure work is managed and executed in a controlled, planned manner with robust procedures and processes in place.

Outputs

Safe & compliant provision of deliverables for both the Service Providers and Internal Customers. Contracts are managed according to Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery metrics. Customer satisfaction is achieved. Cost performance is managed to budget, maximising opportunities and mitigating risks.

Requirements
  • Candidate needs to have experience of managing contracts, ideally from a maintenance background.
  • Contracts will range up to £5 million.
  • Experienced managing subcontractors.
