Job description

I'm looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to join an award-winning fire protection business based in Birmingham.

You MUST have fire doors experience to be considered for this role
Role Responsibilities
  • Manage all stages of fire protection contracts, including planning, resourcing, delivery, and close-out.
  • Lead project teams and subcontractors to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality installations.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and health & safety compliance.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing queries, variations, and project updates.
  • Prepare and oversee programme schedules, RAMS, budgets, and contract documentation.
  • Work closely with procurement and design teams to ensure timely material and equipment supply.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks while ensuring compliance with relevant standards (BS 5839, BS 5306, etc.).
  • Report project performance and financial status to senior management.
Experience Required
  • Proven experience in contract or project management within fire protection, M&E, construction, or a related technical sector.
  • Strong understanding of fire detection, suppression, or passive fire protection systems (training can be provided for the right candidate).
  • Excellent knowledge of UK building regulations, health & safety requirements, and industry standards.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under pressure.
  • Full UK driving licence.

The salary is 50,000 to 60,000 plus an excellent benefits package.
