About the role

Job Title: Contracts Engineer (Sub Agent)

Location: Warrington (office & site-based)

Are you an experienced Contracts Engineer / Sub Agent with a passion for delivering complex structural repair and infrastructure projects safely and efficiently? Join Balvac, Balfour Beatty’s specialist structural repair and strengthening business, and play a key role in delivering high-profile schemes across the UK.

As a Contracts Engineer (Sub Agent), you’ll be responsible for the successful delivery of Balvac schemes of varying size and complexity, working closely with Contracts Managers, Project Managers and site teams. This is a hands-on role combining engineering excellence, leadership and a strong safety culture.

You’ll be based out of Warrington, with a mix of office and site presence depending on project needs.

What you\'ll be doing
  • Manage Balvac projects from site set-up through to completion
  • Lead and coordinate site teams and subcontractors
  • Ensure works are delivered in line with contract drawings, specifications and project plans
  • Manage site dimensional control and setting-out activities
  • Produce, review and implement:
    • Construction Method Statements
    • Risk Assessments
    • PMP, ITPs, Construction Phase Plans and associated documentation
  • Develop and manage programmes, monitoring progress and productivity
  • Ensure strict compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental legislation
  • Champion Behavioural Safety and Zero Harm on site
  • Anticipate and resolve engineering and delivery challenges
  • Maintain accurate construction records, as-built drawings and O&M manuals
  • Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders
You will have the following
  • Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience delivering structural repair or specialist repair projects
  • Experience working on concrete and infrastructure structures
  • Strong technical knowledge of structural repair techniques
  • Confident managing multiple teams, schemes and costs simultaneously
  • Strong leadership, communication and influencing skills
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to excellence
