Job description

Join a dynamic team as a Contracts Delivery Manager driving the delivery of critical infrastructure projects across overhead networks up to 132kV. You will collaborate with design teams to shape project plans that are cost‑effective, timely, and aligned with customer and regulatory expectations. You will also lead and coordinate with trusted external contractors to ensure exceptional performance and service delivery. As a valued member of the Construction, Maintenance, and Inspection team, you’ll play a key role in powering communities – delivering high‑impact results on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities
  • Performance, Compliance & Safety Oversight: Monitor contractor performance in real time, ensuring technical quality, regulatory compliance, and safe working practices.
  • Project & Investment Management: Manage multiple projects from planning to completion, covering safety, quality, cost, schedule, and adherence to investment processes.
  • Coordination & Communication: Lead daily tracking of work and resources, fostering clear communication with contractors, internal teams, and stakeholders.
  • Quality, Documentation & Team Capability: Maintain accurate, high‑quality project records, ensure contractor training and authorisation, and manage team capability, availability, and welfare.
  • Continuous Improvement & Commercial Accountability: Identify improvement opportunities, manage budgets efficiently, and implement actions to enhance productivity, cost‑effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • Utility & Operational Expertise: 132kv overhead line tower experience and a strong background in contract partner management and operational delivery.
  • Commercial & Regulatory Awareness: Solid understanding of DNO operations, revenue generation, price control frameworks, and regulatory standards.
  • Cross‑Functional Business Knowledge: Appreciation of how different business functions interrelate, alongside a strong grasp of local business plans and customer service strategies.
  • Technical & IT Proficiency: Hands‑on technical knowledge of electricity distribution or related sectors, supported by competent IT.
  • Leadership & Personal Attributes: Effective communicator and decision‑maker with project delivery skills, commercially focused mindset, and a collaborative, trustworthy, and performance‑driven approach. Experience with stakeholder management so that you can communicate with people at all levels.
