Job summary

QED Legal is recruiting a Contracts Advisor into its Risk & Compliance team across the UK. The role offers high exposure to Partners and senior stakeholders and a focus on client contracts, engagement terms and regulatory risk within a leading national firm.

You'll review, draft and negotiate client engagement terms and supplier contracts, advise on guidelines and standard terms, and help develop precedents, playbooks and databases to support commercial and regulatory objectives.

Qualifications

• Experience in contract review, advisory or negotiation within a law firm or regulated environment.
• Experience with client engagement terms or supplier contracts preferred.
• Understanding regulatory or risk considerations in commercial agreements.

Responsibilities

• Review, draft and negotiate client engagement terms, contracts and agreements.
• Advise on outside counsel guidelines, panel terms, engagement letters and standard terms of business.
• Identify and assess legal, regulatory and commercial risks within contracts.
• Advise stakeholders on departures from standard contractual positions and support the relevant approval processes.
• Work closely with Procurement on supplier contracts and terms of service.
• Act as a trusted advisor to Partners and internal stakeholders on contractual and compliance queries.
• Maintain and develop contract precedents, playbooks, guidance and contract databases.
• Keep up to date with regulatory developments and market practice.
• Provide clear, practical and commercially focused advice that enables the business to move forward.
