Job summary

Akkodis invites an experienced Contractor Compliance & CDM Advisor to join a safety-focused facilities team. Based in Hertfordshire with travel to Bristol and Bolton, you will guide on CDM 2015, support Principal Designer duties, and ensure contractor compliance across a varied portfolio.

You will partner with project managers to drive safety standards, analyse data, and help embed a culture of compliance across multiple sites nationwide.

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Diploma (Level 6 preferred).
  • Membership of IOSH with CPD commitment.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of CDM 2015 Regulations.
  • Knowledge of Principal Designer role; IMaPS/CMaPS advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive support and guidance on CDM 2015 Regulations.
  • Assist in delivering the Principal Designer role on smaller projects.
  • Support a large portfolio of facilities and construction projects across the UK.

Job description

Contractor Compliance & CDM Advisor

Location: Hertfordshire (with regular travel to Bristol and Bolton)

Salary: Circa £52,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Contract: Fixed-Term Contract (2 Years)

Security Clearance: British Citizen. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS).

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced safety professional to join a growing Facilities Management team, supporting a diverse portfolio of construction and facilities projects across multiple UK sites.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring contractor compliance and the effective implementation of CDM 2015 Regulations across projects of varying size and complexity.

Working alongside Project Managers and key stakeholders, you will provide expert guidance on construction health and safety, support project delivery teams, and help drive a strong culture of compliance across the estate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide proactive support and guidance on the implementation of CDM 2015 Regulations.
  • Assist in delivering the Principal Designer role on smaller construction projects.
  • Support the delivery of a large and varied portfolio of facilities and construction projects across the UK.
  • Advise stakeholders on contractor compliance and construction safety requirements.
  • Produce and analyse contractor compliance statistics and performance data.
  • Assist with accident and incident investigations and ensure lessons learned are implemented.
  • Conduct inspections and compliance reviews on active CDM sites.
  • Support internal and external audit activities.
  • Work closely with maintenance and service providers to ensure compliance with legislation, standards and company procedures.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of safety processes and working practices.
What We\'re Looking For
  • NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Diploma (Level 6 preferred).
  • Membership of IOSH with an active commitment to CPD.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of CDM 2015 Regulations.
  • Knowledge of the Principal Designer role, with IMaPS or CMaPS qualifications considered advantageous.
  • Experience within construction, facilities management, estates, property, engineering or infrastructure environments.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong auditing, inspection and incident investigation capabilities.
  • A proactive and practical approach to health, safety and compliance.
