Job summary

First Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Temporary Works Coordinator to join a major highways infrastructure project on a 6-month contract. You will coordinate temporary works, manage the Temporary Works Register, and ensure compliance with BS5975 and project requirements on site.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will also take the Lead Appointed Person role for lifting operations, mentor site teams, and collaborate with planning, commercial and construction colleagues to

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Temporary Works Coordinator on major highways, infrastructure or civil projects.
• Strong understanding of BS5975 Temporary Works Procedures.
• Experience managing Temporary Works Registers and Supervisors.
• Experience working in a Principal Contractor environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Temporary Works Coordinator on a major highways infrastructure project.
• Manage and maintain the Temporary Works Register.
• Coordinate Temporary Works Supervisors, Designers and site teams.
• Review designs, approvals and temporary works implementations.
• Ensure temporary works are installed, inspected, maintained and removed per designs.
• Oversee temporary works across highways, bridges, earthworks and lifting operations.
• Ensure compliance with BS5975 and project procedures.
• Conduct site inspections and temporary works audits.
• Support and mentor engineering and site teams.
• Lead Appointed Person for lifting operations.
