Overall Objective

The Contract Sales Negotiator role requires negotiating sales, progressing sales to completion, and developing new business. The role aims to maximize sales and margin opportunities in line with business objectives through a proactive approach. The person will coordinate with internal departments to meet customer and company requirements and support sales activities within a small team.

Job Description

A Contract Sales Negotiator will be expected to:

  1. Deliver the budgeted margin targets as a minimum.
  2. Conduct all business within the company’s credit and cash guidelines.
  3. Ensure customer visits, sales calls, and inquiries are carried out to a high standard.
  4. Achieve account opening levels as specified by management.
  5. Maintain customer records and adhere to company procedures.
  6. Document and catalog relevant information regarding proactive activities.
  7. Keep management informed of trading activity and customer base information.
  8. Follow all company policies including Health & Safety regulations.
  9. Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by management.
Education/Qualifications/Experience

Must have a good level of education, such as a Diploma, City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent. Proven successful experience in sales and contract performance is required.

Job Specific Skills
  1. Excellent sales and negotiation skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
  2. Strong planning and organizational skills, with timely reporting and adherence to paperwork and processes.
  3. Proficiency with management reporting systems and interrogating data for management insights.
  4. Highly organized, detail-oriented, capable of managing workload in pressurized environments.
