Birketts is a leading UK law firm delivering full-service legal advice across multiple practice areas. The Risk and Compliance team ensures Lexcel accreditation and QS standards, manages internal audits, and supports regulatory reviews while collaborating with partners and fee-earners.

The role focuses on implementing best practices, embedding risk controls, and contributing to policy development in a hybrid working arrangement with a mix of office and home days.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor or CILEx fellow (or equivalent) with significant PQE, ideally in a UK law firm.
• Knowledge of AML regulations and sanctions regime.
• Demonstrated compliance and risk management experience in a law firm or in-house function.

Responsabilités

• Lead and develop a high-performing risk and compliance team.
• Advise on regulatory compliance under SRA Standards and Regulations 2019, including conflicts and due diligence.
• Oversee client/matter onboarding, AML checks, sanctions screening and conflict checks.
• Utilise Intapp for conflict management and onboarding workflows; drive process improvements.
