Job summary

A leading engineering company in the UK is seeking a talented Contract Research & Development Engineer to take on a key role in the development and testing of next-generation electrochemical sensors. The engineer will work hands-on with cutting-edge equipment and contribute to both NPI projects and broader sensor design improvements. Candidates should have strong experience in sensor validation and a relevant degree in engineering or science. This role offers an immediate start and is for a 9-12 month contract.

Contract Research & Development Engineer

R&D Engineer Electrochemical Sensor Development

9-12 month contract

We are seeking a talented Contract Research & Development Engineer (R&D Engineer) to undertake a key project focussed role as part of a leading Engineering team. You will play a key role in the development and testing of a next-generation electrochemical sensor, designed for integration into a new product range.

About the Role

In this hands-on position, you will be responsible for building, testing, and validating the performance of electrochemical sensors. Youll work with cutting-edge electrochemistry equipment, gas delivery systems, and engage in iterative product developmentcontributing to root-cause analysis, failure investigation, and design refinement.

While the primary focus will be on supporting our sensor NPI (New Product Introduction) project, youll also have opportunities to contribute to wider sensor design improvements and equipment testing across the department.

About You

We're looking for someone who :

  • Has strong experience in developing, testing, and validating electrochemical sensors
  • A degree in analytical chemistry / science / engineering or similar.
