Contract Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Location: South West

Rate: £36 per hour (Outside IR35)

Shift: 4 on 4 off Days & Nights

Were looking for an experienced Contract Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to support several fast-paced food manufacturing sites across the South West. Work is outside IR35 with immediate starts available.

What youll be doing

Responding to breakdowns and keeping production operational

Electrical fault finding on motors, control panels, drives, sensors and general production machinery

Carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance across high-speed food processing and packaging equipment

Supporting mechanical repairs when required

Ensuring safe working practices and maintaining engineering standards

Working effectively with onsite engineering and production teams

What were looking for

Strong electrical maintenance background

Experience within food manufacturing or wider FMCG

Competent with inverters, drives, PLC fault finding and industrial automation

Hands‑on approach and able to step into a busy environment quickly

Mechanical ability (welding/fitting) is beneficial

Immediate or short‑notice availability preferred

Machinery youll work on

High‑speed food processing equipment, packaging machinery, conveyors, motors, inverters, sensors and control panels (varies by site)
