Job summary

TXM Recruit is seeking an experienced Contract Manufacturing Quality Engineer (MQE) for a high‑profile aerospace/defence manufacturing environment. This hands‑on contract role requires immediate impact across production, quality, and engineering teams to resolve issues and drive shop‑floor quality improvements.

You will lead RCCA and 8D investigations, manage non‑conformances, and support FAI activity in line with AS9102.

Qualifications

• Experience in contract or project-based quality engineering.
• Experience in aerospace/defence or similarly regulated manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of AS9100 and quality systems.
• Hands-on handling of manufacturing non-conformances and CAPAs.
• Proven RCCA and 8D problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience with FAI and AS9102.
• Ability to collaborate with Production and Engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage manufacturing non-conformances and containment activities.
• Lead RCCA and 8D investigations through closure.
• Drive corrective and preventive actions to reduce COPQ.
• Support Production to improve quality performance.
• Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) in line with AS9102.
• Support product verification, inspection and release activities.
• Work with Manufacturing Engineering to resolve shop-floor issues.
• Identify process improvements to enhance product quality.
• Engage with supplier and customer quality activities.
• Clear backlogs and drive timely corrective actions.
