Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Contract Manufacturing Engineer in Weybridge, UK, for a 6-month rolling contract with outside IR35 or PAYE options and a condensed 4-day week. The role focuses on lean-driven process development for electro-mechanical assembly, driving DFA/DFM during NPI and existing product support.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Production/Manufacturing Engineer with a strong lean background, capable of process layout, fixture/tooling development, and cost-reduction

Qualifications

• HNC/D qualified Production/Manufacturing Engineer with electro-mechanical assembly background.
• Experience in assembly and lean manufacturing is required.
• Proficient with DFA/DFM and NPI processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform DFA/DFM on new products and support NPI activities.
• Apply lean tools for problem solving and waste reduction.
• Contribute to value engineering to improve cost and efficiency.
• Assist with plant and process layout for new and existing products.
• Develop and maintain fixtures and tooling; specify equipment and justify capital investments.
• Create clear work instructions for new and existing products.
• Support lean culture through Value Stream Mapping and continuous improvement initiatives.

Secure yet growing design, development and manufacturer of specialist engineered products and are currently seeking a talented Contract Manufacturing Engineer with a passion for lean to join their team focused manufacturing operation.

The role of Manufacturing Engineer will suit a Manufacturing / Production Engineer with an electro-mechanical assembly background as you will be driving process development of existing products and supporting new product development / NPI through effective application of lean manufacturing tools and techniques.

Key accountabilities for Contract Manufacturing Engineer / Production Engineer will include:

• NPI support - undertake DFA/DFM on new products as required.
• Utilisation of lean manufacturing tools and techniques for Problem Solving
• Supporting Value Engineering exercises on your key product lines / cells to assist in achieving the maximum efficiency and cost effectiveness of the process
• Play a key role in plant and process layout for new and existing products
• Responsible for the maintenance and development of fixtures and tooling for new and existing products and processes
• Assisting with cellular layout for key products
• Producing clear work instructions for new and existing products
• Justification and specification of manufacturing equipment and make recommendations for capital expenditure.
• Supporting Management in fostering a culture of lean manufacturing culture by using lean tools, Value Stream Mapping etc.
• Proactively lead and contribute to cost reduction continuous improvement initiatives

The ideal candidate will be an experienced HNC/D qualified (or commensurate experience) Production Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer with an electro-mechanical assembly background. Assembly experience and lean manufacturing expertise required.
