Job summary

The Sureserve Group is recruiting an Area Manager for the South region, focusing on social housing heating services across London and the South East. You will lead customer service, contract liaison, and compliance across contracts while coordinating with HR and procurement teams.

The role requires a Qualified Domestic Gas Engineer with ACS and prior area leadership experience, plus strong MS Office skills and a service‑driven mindset.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Domestic Gas Engineer with current ACS accreditation.
  • Previous Area Manager experience in social housing/construction is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; strong customer service focus.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for customer services including complaint resolution.
  • Work closely with HR on employee-related issues throughout the lifecycle.
  • Attend contract meetings and report to Head of Region.
  • Monitor parts usage and credit returns to procurement.
  • Ensure compliance on all contracts.
  • Oversee invoicing and chargeable works management.
  • Lead on no access procedures and servicing programmes compliance.
  • Manage region functions and client contract management liaison.
  • Handle customer feedback and drive service improvements.
  • Oversee regional fleet standards and liaise with Fleet department.
  • Assist in bidding and contracting for new work.
  • Recruitment oversight and probationary reviews.
  • Carry out ad-hoc administrative duties.

We support our clients across domestic gas, commercial gas, renewables, and electrical services. Duties for Area Manager
  • Responsible for customer services including complaint resolution

  • Work closely with HR colleagues on employee-related issues that may occur throughout the employee lifecycle.

  • Attend all contract meetings and report back to the Head of Region

  • Monitor parts usage and credit returns to procurement department

  • To ensure compliance is met on all contracts

  • Responsible for all financial invoicing on time and chargeable works management

  • Ensure letter procedure is adhered to and take full responsibility for no access procedure

  • Achieving and maintaining 100% compliance on servicing programmes

  • Manage key functions and roles within the Region

  • Be the main link with our clients in terms of contract management

  • Handle all forms of feedback from customers and clients and take appropriate action; take the lead on championing customer service

  • Ensure the fleet of your region is kept to a high standard. Working with the fleet department when necessary, reporting any issues as they happen

  • Assist in the preparation of bidding and contracting for new work

  • Heavily involved in recruiting and monitoring probationary periods

  • All associated ad-hoc administrative duties

The successful candidate will have
  • Qualified Domestic Gas Engineer (holding current ACS qualification)

  • Previous Area Manager experience preferably from a social housing/construction background

  • Able to provide a high level of courteous, professional customer service

  • Highly proficient in MS Office, in particular Outlook and Excel

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Flexible attitude with strong organisational skills
